Am I eligible?

To qualify for the DC Healthy Families Program, Immigrant Children’s Program or DC Healthcare Alliance Program, you must have limited income. The information on this page will help you determine if you’re eligible for these programs.

Who’s eligible?

In the District of Columbia, you may be eligible for DC Healthy Families benefits through Amerigroup DC if you are:

  • Eligible for Medicaid or CHIP
  • A childless adult up to age 64 who meets certain income requirements
  • A foster care enrollee who decides to remain in this program

You may be eligible for the DC Healthcare Alliance Program if you:

  • Are age 21 or older
  • Live in the District of Columbia
  • Do not have health insurance
  • Are not eligible for Medicaid or Medicare and
  • Meet certain income requirements
Other restrictions may apply. Apply in person at a Department of Human Services (DHS) service center near you to talk with someone about your eligibility or to enroll with Amerigroup. Find a service center

Your child may be eligible for the Immigrant Children’s Program if they:

  • Are under the age of 21
  • Live in the District of Columbia
  • Are not eligible for Medicaid and
  • Meet certain income requirements
